The Federal Court’s approved a multi-million dollar class-action settlement for a group of disabled RCMP vets whose disability payments were reduced.
It involves just over 1,000 Mounties whose long-term disability payments were clawed back by the amount of their monthly disability benefits from Veterans Affairs.
The settlement’s estimated to be worth about $70-million.
The proposed agreement also means the reduction would end for all RCMP vets now getting benefits and Mounties who are medically released in the future.
