Bill Blair says city councillor Doug Ford is ‘lying’ and that he’s ”prepared to take legal action” after the mayor’s brother accused the police chief of leaking information about a possible subpoena against Rob Ford.

The police are reportedly prepared to subpoena the mayor to testify in the extortion case of accused drug dealer Alexander Lisi, Rob Ford’s one-time friend.

Doug Ford said, ”When you have the leadership of the police department releasing a subpoena to the media before releasing they release it to the mayor, you wonder why we need a change at the top (of the police service) ? … I’m very disappointed … Maybe it’s a little payback in my opinion.”

That’s in reference to last year’s comment by the police chief who said he was disappointed by the video that shows Rob Ford smoking what appears to be crack cocaine.

That remark prompted Doug Ford to call for Bill Blair’s resignation.
