Candlelight vigils will be held tonight for a 45-year-old Ontario teacher being detained in an Indonesian jail. Neil Bantleman was arrested in Jakarta more than two weeks ago during a police investigation into the alleged sexual assault of three kindergarten students. Bantleman’s brother says he is optimistic Neil will be released. Guy Bantelman says Saturday will be the end of the first 20 day period since the arrest and Indonesian police will have to make some decisions about the case. Indonesia can hold Bantleman for up to 40 days without judicial oversight. One vigil will be held in Jakarta outside the school where the alleged assault took place. Others will be held in Burlington, Calgary and Okotoks, Alberta.
