The rates of Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia are falling in the U.S. and some other rich countries.

New studies show the number getting the most common form of dementia is still growing because more of us are living longer.

For example, an American over age 60 has a 44 % lower chance of developing dementia than someone that age 30 years ago.

An expert on aging says the risk of dementia seems to have declined probably due to more education and control of health factors like cholesterol and blood pressure.

About 35-million around the world have Alzheimer’s.
