Extraordinary audience response has The Stratford Festival extending its 2014 season for five productions.
“King Lear” and “Crazy for You” will run for an extra week in October, while “King John,”…”Mother Courage and Her Children” and “Antony and Cleopatra” will run for an additional week in September.
Tickets for the additional performances go on sale tomorrow.
“King Lear” in particular has enjoyed great critical success, with Chicago Tribune critic Chris Jones describing Antoni Cimolino’s production as “deeply compassionate” and “heart-wrenching.” And the Globe and Mail’s J. Kelly Nestruck calls Colm Feore’s portrayal of Lear “unforgettable.”
