A new poll seems to indicate that for Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, it’s “Out of sight, out of favour.” The Forum Research polls shows Ford’s approval rating has dropped to a historic low of 28 per cent. It’s the lowest approval rating since Ford was elected. Forum suggests that the mayor is “no longer a contender in any of the tested mayoral matchups.” Forum found Ford way behind the approval ratings of his major contenders. John Tory leads with 68 per cent, Olivia Chow has 64, David Socknaki 54, and Karen Stintz 48. However, the numbers are somewhat different in how respondents said they would vote. In that category, Chow leads with 38 per cent, Tory has 28 per cent, Ford has 20, Socknaki 5, and Stintz 4. Forum President Lorne Bozinoff says Ford’s decline shows that the ongoing stories about his behaviour are beginning to take their toll. Ford is currently in rehab and is expected to be back at Toronto City Hall July 1st.
