A change of plan at the Colorado Symphony.

No more dope in public.

The orchestra now says it’s bring-your-own marijuana concerts in Denver will be private, invitation only events – so no laws are broken – barring the public use of weed.

The symphony had organized three pot-themed summer concerts at a Denver art gallery under the banner “Classically Cannabis: The High Note Series,” which was to be sponsored by businesses from Colorado’s legal marijuana industry.

Concert- goers would be invited to consume their marijuana at an outdoor patio.

But the event sparked red flags from officials in Colorado – which is one of two U.S. states, along with Washington, that allow the use of marijuana for recreational purposes.

Consumption of cannabis remains illegal in public.

Last week Denver sent a letter to symphony executives saying the city would use “any and all options” to halt the events.

The symphony has removed all references to the cannabis events from its website and is giving ticket buyers their money back.
