PC Leader Tim Hudak says the province’s energy sector is run by a ”bloated” bureaucracy.
If elected premier June 12, Hudak says he’d cut the red tape so there would be fewer agencies running the electricity system, which he feels would stabilize constantly rising prices.
Otherwise Hudak says businesses will just move elsewhere.
The Tory leader also says he would import energy from other provinces and the U-S and replace subsidies for solar and wind power and invest in nuclear, hydro and natural gas power.
Meanwhile, an NDP government would take the provincial portion of the H-S-T off hydro bills.
Leader Andrea Horwath says that would save homeowners about $120 a year, beginning in 2016.
