“Of course, I am coming back and I’m going to kick butt.”  These are the words of Rob Ford, who spoke on the phone to the Toronto Sun’s Joe Warmington from an unnamed rehab centre.  “It sounds like he’s going to be on the ballot.  That’s certainly his intention and he talked about it in a very robust way that he’s looking forward to winning this election,” Warmington explained to CP24 this morning.

Ford told Warmington, “rehab is amazing and reminds me of football camp, kind of like the Washington Redskins camp I went to as a kid.”  He explained that there are meetings with eight people in a group or sometimes four, and one on one sessions as well.  He added that he’s working out every day and learning about himself and his past.  One of the areas covered so far is his own anger at his political opponents.  He said, “it’s not an excuse to play the victim and it’s not an excuse to drink.”  Rob Ford wouldn’t reveal the name of the treatment centre or where he’s located out of respect for the other patients.

“I also found it interesting that he had been looking for his calls sheets and things  like that so he could call back constituents,” Warmington went on to say.  As for how long Ford will be away, Warmington says he gets the sense from Ford it will be longer than the original 30 day goal.

One published report says Ford may be receiving treatment at the Homewood Health Centre in Guelph, Ontario.  The Ford camp would not confirm that.
