A new poll suggests Ontario’s Conservative party has a five point lead over the Liberals in the early days of the election campaign.
The Forum Research survey shows the Conservatives leading with 38 per cent, the Liberals at 33, and the NDP at 22.
But, because of the where the Tories’ strength is concentrated, Forum Research President Lorne Bozinoff says the numbers would return Wynne to power with another minority.
Over the weekend, Wynne found herself in a verbal jousting match with a politician who isn’t even in the race.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper criticized her campaign-ready idea for an Ontario pension plan, predicting that voters would see it as a tax and reject it.
Wynne admits the proposal has been divisive, but she says too many people in this province don’t have a pension plan. And if Harper refuses to increase the CPP, she has to step in.
