The Toronto Raptors are expected to make a gesture of solidarity with the L.A. Clippers before their playoff game with the Brooklyn Nets tonight.
Raps star Kyle Lowry joined a chorus of NBA players in applauding a decision yesterday by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to ban Clippers’ owner Don Sterling for life from the NBA for racist comments. “A lot of players and a lot of people have spoken about it. They reiterate the same thing that I would, there’s just no place for that,” said Lowry after the ruling.
Donald Sterling’s girlfriend recorded the 80 year old chastising her for associating with black people in public. The NBA Commissioner also fined Sterling $2.5-million and recommended he sell the Clippers. If 75 percent of NBA owners agree, Sterling will be forced to sell.
The L.A. Clippers won their game last night against the Golden State Warriors and now lead their series 3-2. The Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets are tied at 2 games each ahead of tonight’s game 5.
