A musical that tells the story of a poor man who eliminates the eight heirs ahead of him to inherit a fortune leads this year’s Tony nominations:

A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder received ten nominations, including Best Musical and Best Performance by its two leading actors.

It will compete for Best Musical against After Midnight, Aladdin, and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.

The nominees for best new play are James Lapine’s Act One, Robert Schenkkan’s All the Way, Harvey Fierstein’s Casa Valentina, Terrance McNally’s Mothers and Sons, and John Patrick Shanley’s Outside Mullingar.

Several big-name movie performers were snubbed. Denzel Washington, Daniel Radcliffe, James Franco, Zachary Quinto, and Michelle Williams did not receive nominations.

The GTA’s Ramin was nominated for his performance as Jean Valjean in Les Miz.

The Tonys will be given out June 8th. You can find a complete list of nominees here.
