Driving is an exercise in patience if your morning commute takes you on the Gardiner Expressway.  And it will be this way for some time to come.  Repair work means lane restrictions both east and westbound in at least one section of the highway until 2016.

Right now, there are just two lanes available for traffic on both the Gardiner east and westbound between Parklawn and the Humber River, as well as from west of Jameson to Bathurst.

The three major projects include deck replacement of the elevated portion of the Gardiner to be completed in December of 2016, median replacement to be completed by this August and structural rehabilitation of three bridges between the Humber River and Parklawn to be completed in February of next year.

Expect to add an additional 30 minutes to your commute.  It’s the same if you take the GO Bus.
