A long-time Toronto City Councillor is planning to attempt the leap to federal politics. Adam Vaughan is reportedly going to seek the Liberal nomination for the upcoming by-election in Trinity – Spadina. The riding was vacated by Olivia Chow who is now running to unseat Rob Ford in this fall’s mayoralty race. Should he win the nomination, Vaughan will square off against New Democrat Joe Cressy, who ran Chow’s federal election campaign in 2011. Trinity – Spadina has swung between the Liberals and NDP in recent elections. As yet, there is no date for the by-election.
