Canada’s leading contemporary photography award has announced its most diverse long list to date.
The AIMIA/AGO Photography Prize features 23 exceptional creators – with artists from all six continents represented.
The $50,000 prize is awarded by public vote and honours living artists whose work in photography and video over the past five years has shown extraordinary potential.
The jury will select a short – list of four people including at least one Canadian artist and that group will receive a fully funded six-week residency in Canada.
The winner will be selected by public vote at the Art Gallery of Ontario and online – with voting beginning August 13th .
The artists’ work will be exhibited at the AGO beginning September 3rd – with the $50,000 winner to be announced on October 29th.
