LEACOCK HUMOUR NOMINEES INCLUDE 3 TIME WINNER ARTHUR BLACK

A former three-time winner is on the shortlist for the 2014 “Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour in Canadian Literature.”

Arthur Black is nominated for “Fifty Shades of Black” and joins shortlisted authors including: Wayne Johnston, a multiple finalist for the Scotiabank Giller Prize and the Governor General’s Award for fiction.

Johnston’s nominated for “The Son of A Certain Woman.”

Also getting the nod is Steve Smith, better known for his comedic on-screen persona – Red Green.
Smith is nominated for “Red Green’s Beginner’s Guide to Women.”

Also on the list: “And Then There Were Nuns:Adventures In A Cloistered Life,” by Jane Christmas.

Rounding out the list is “The Promised Land,” by Bill Conall.

The winner will be announced April 24th and will recieve $15,000 and the cherished Leacock Memorial Medal. All four runners-up will also be given a cash prize.
