Ontario’s Liberals have confirmed that an outside tech expert that police allege was given access to 24 computers in the premier’s office last year, had a contract with the governing party that was cancelled just two days ago. Earlier today, the opposition NDP increased the pressure on Premier Wynne to answer MPP’s questions about the gas plant closure scandal. This morning party leader, Andrea Horwath lead her MPPs out of the legislature to protest against Wynne’s absence. Meanwhile, Progressive Conservative leader, Tim Hudak says he is absolutely not backing off allegations that Kathleen Wynne was in charge when 24 computer hard drives were wiped clean. In the legislature today, Hudak said either Wynne knew what was happening when she was premier-designate, or she is incompetent. The OPP search warrant alleges that an outside tech expert was given access to computers in the Premier’s office during the transition to Wynne’s government from Dalton McGuinty’s. But the warrant does not suggest any action happened concerning computer hard drives after Wynne took office.
