The former Premier of New Brunswick, Bernard Lord – will be taking over as chairman of Ontario Power Generation, the province’s government-owned utility.
Meanwhile, former Ontario cabinet minister Sandra Pupatello has been chosen to take over as chairwoman of Hydro One, the operator of the province’s transmission network.
Both government appointments take effect on April 1st.
Pupatello is a former leadership rival to Premier Kathleen Wynne. She’s currently CEO of Windsor Essex Economic Development Corporation – and she’s a director at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Lord is president and CEO of the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association.
Three OPG executives were fired in December after the auditor general released a damning report about generous salaries, pensions and bonuses at the utility.
