The Minnesota Orchestra’s board is meeting today to decide the fate of two key members of the organization: Maestro Osmo Vanska and CEO Michael Henson.

Vanska resigned in October as the lockout of musicians stretched into 16 months and compromised recording and touring schedules. He has said he’d be open to returning, but not if Henson is still in charge.

Henson was a target of anger among musicians during the dispute. But he has support on the board because of his success in fundraising and increasing the orchestra’s reputation.

Vanska will return as a guest conductor at the end of next month. There is pressure on the board to find a solution before then.
