CARP’s first Job Fair and Symposium was such a success, another one is in the works. Some 600 zoomers attended yesterday’s event at Mississauga’s Centre for Health and Safety Innovation. It was designed by CARP – a New Vision of Aging – to match older workers with interested employers looking to hire dedicated mature employees. Kim Santos-Rodriguez told Zoomer Media News, it was a perfect venue to find her next opportunity. “I was in a profession for 23 years and recently lost my job so this has given me an opportunity to come out and see what’s going on since I last applied for a job.”
Industry experts were on site talking about the benefits older workers bring to any work environment. Training was also offered on using social media, starting businesses and taking advantage of network marketing and a wide range of franchising options. Check here for details on the next job fair and symposium.
