FAMOUS SINGING SIBLING DIES

The last surviving member of the Trapp Family Singers, made famous in ”The Sound of Music,” has died.

Marie von Trapp was 99.

She was portrayed as Louisa in the 1960s movie.

The family won acclaim throughout Europe for their singing and escaped Nazi-occupied Austria in 1938.

Their story was turned into a film and Broadway musical.

The Trapp family moved to Vermont in 1942 after visiting during a tour.

The family opened and still runs a lodge in Stowe.
