It’s Day 7 at the Sochi Winter Olympics, and there are a few chances for Canada to add to its ten medals.
But not in cross-country skiing. Canadians were well back in the 15-kilometre classic. The top Canadian was Devon Kershaw of Sudbury who placed 35th.
But Toronto’s Patrick Chan will be going for gold this morning at 10:00 in the free skate. Chan is second after yesterday’s short program.
In men’s curling, Ontario’s Brad Jacobs is back on track after a couple of early losses in the competition. Jacobs and his rink overpowered Norway 10-4 to improve to 4-and-2. They next play tomorrow against Britain.
Canada’s men’s hockey team is back in action at noon today after defeating Norway 3-1 yesterday. Sidney Crosby and company are not expected to face a strong challenge from Austria.
