Martin St. Louis will represent Canada at the olympics after all. Hockey Canada announced this morning that the 38-year-old Tampa Bay forward will replace injured Lightning teammate Steven Stamkos on Canada’s men’s hockey team at the Sochi Olympics. During a news conference after the announcement, St. Louis says that he’s happy to be going to the Olympics. St. Louis was considered one of Canada’s most surprising snubs when the team was first announced but he says he didn’t let it get him down. St. Louis has won two World Championship silver medals for Canada over his career but he’s never been to the Olympics despite being one of the NHL’s most consistent scorers over his career.
