Conrad Black has responded to his removal from the Order and Privy Council of Canada.  The former owner of Hollinger International says he has received only good wishes and promises to return every email.  The author and television host writes in the National Post today, that whether “I continue to hold these distinctions is not significant, but the process of Canada demeaning itself by robotic conformity to injustices inflicted in the United Sates on the holders of Canadian honours without any review, is a matter of some general interest.”  Black also says “if Canada’s highest honours can be stripped away from someone because of processes that would not be acceptable in Canada, the consequences reflect poorly on Canadian sovereignty and credibility as a country.”  Black also insists that he resigned from the Order of Canada “but gave Governor General David Johnston the opportunity to do the right thing and not accept the advice to withdraw my honours.”  Conrad Black is the controversial co-host of The Zoomer on our sister station, Vision TV.
