Mayor Rob Ford has formally requested a meeting with Premier, Kathleen Wynne. He says the purpose of the meeting is to talk about help paying for damage done by two severe storms that cost the city 171-million dollars in 2013. Ford also responded to Mayoral candidate, David Soknacki’s announcement earlier today that if elected mayor next October, Soknacki would scrap the Scarborough subway extension in favour of Light Rapid Transit. The mayor says he’s responded to the wishes of voters in Scarborough who have indicated that they want a subway, not an LRT system. There are 23 candidates for mayor, registered to run in October’s municipal election.
