It has been another difficult commute.
Nature is throwing us a double dose of difficult weather that combines to make getting around a challenge.
Overnight we had a mixture of rain and freezing rain. Combined with temperatures around zero, it gave us slushy, slippery conditions to start the day.
That would have been bad enough on it’s own. But a flash freeze warning and a wind chill warning have been declared for much of Southern Ontario. Temperatures are expected to fall to minus-11 by this afternoon.
The City of Toronto has issued an Extreme Cold Weather Alert to get the homeless off the streets.
As for students heading back to class after the Christmas break, the Toronto District School Board and Catholic District School Board reports schools are open and buses are running. Buses are also running in York Region. But we do have some cancellations to report
