A 34-year old police constable was thrown from an unmarked police car following a crash on Bloor west of the 427 late Saturday afternoon.

Const. John Zivcic was rushed to St. Michael’s Hospital where Deputy Chief Peter Sloly said the officer underwent several operations.

”We were advised by the surgeon that the officer has received life-threatening injuries.”

The 22 Division officer had been responding to a call while on traffic duty.
