A Toronto City Staff Report on the expansion of Porter Airlines at Billy Bishop Airport downtown is recommending that council delay a decision on the expansion plans until next year. Staff say Porter’s plans rely on reduced noise levels of the new Bombardier CS100 jet. But Transport Canada isn’t expected to confirm the jet’s noise levels until midway through next year. Porter needs council approval before it can expand the runways to accommodate the jets before it can proceed.
