FIRST STORM OF THE SEASON BRUSHES BY TORONTO

Toronto is breathing a sigh of relief this morning after being spared the worst of the first winter storm.

Only a couple of centimetres fell on most of the GTA, although northern areas got up to seven centimetres. The worst of the storm hit to the east of us.  Ottawa is digging out from under 20 centimetres.

Driving conditions remain a concern. Temperatures are just below freezing and roads are wet. That could make roads and sidewalks slippery.

Pearson and Billy Bishop airports expect delays and cancellations in flights heading to areas where the storm hit hard. The American eastern seaboard is bearing the brunt of the weather just as millions of people head home for Thanksgiving tomorrow.
