Known simply as The Pill, birth control is a daily regimen for millions of women worldwide, including zoomer women who are trying to prevent a mid-life pregnancy.

But a new study suggests that women who have used it on a long-term basis are twice as likely to have glaucoma a leading cause of blindness.  The research included more than 3000 women 40 and older who completed vision and reproductive health questionnaires and had eye exams.

The findings were presented at the American Association of Ophthalmology meeting in New Orleans this week.
