Another day in the Rob Ford scandal is off to an explosive start.
The mayor says he has no choice but to launch legal action against former staff members after allegations in documents released by the courts from the 500 page police investigation into Ford’s activities with his friend Alexander Lisi. Former staffers were interviewed by police and alleged that Ford had been drinking and driving, doing drugs in public, and had taken someone to his city hall office they suggested may have been a prostitute.
Ford also used very crude language to refute one of the allegations. His vulgarities shocked reporters and colleagues alike. Some councillors say it’s further proof that Ford is not fit to be mayor of Toronto.
The latest developments come on a day when a new poll was released that shows the scandal may be hurting Ford’s support. The Ipsos-Reid survey shows Ford would lose an election against any of his possible opponents.
