The Shaw Festival has just concluded a record season.

The seven-month presentation of ten productions that ended on Sunday generated $16-million in box office revenue. That’s the highest in the Festival’s history.

The company says that represents a ten per cent increase over last year. Most of the gains came from Ontario’s Golden Horseshoe. Toronto residents accounted for a 14 per cent increase.

One-third of Shaw’s audience came from the US and abroad.

The company will announce detailed financial results at its annual general meeting in January.
