We’ve known for sometime that blueberries are good for you, but it seems a daily bowl of blueberries could add years to your life and protect against obesity, heart disease and diabetes.  U.S. researchers fed specially bred obese lab rats a diet of blueberries, the equivalent of two cups a day for a human.  The scientists found this improved the relaxing and constricting in the blood vessels, which had a significant impact on blood flow and blood pressure.  The study’s co-author says its best to eat the berries raw.  Heating the fruit affects the levels of the substance that gives them their “superfood” credentials.
