Lou Reed, a influential songwriter and guitarist, who helped shape nearly fifty years of rock music, has died.
His second solo album in 1972, Transformer, produced by David Bowie, pushed him beyond cult status into genuine rock stardom, specifically the song “Walk On the Wild Side.”
The cause of death has not yet been released, but the 71-year old Reed underwent a liver transplant in May.
