Toronto has a brand new attraction! Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada opens at 10 o’clock this morning. It’s at the base of the CN Tower and features more than 16,000 marine animals over 135,000 square feet. Visitors will be able to wander through “Dangerous Lagoon”, where sharks swim overhead as a moving sidewalk transports viewers through a glass tunnel. There is also an exhibit where people can dip their fingers into the water to see what a stingray’s skin feels like. The aquarium also has a distinctly Canadian touch. The Canadian Waters exhibit shows off some of the amazing aqua-culture living off Canada’s coasts, from the freshwater fish of the Great Lakes to the kelp forest of the Pacific Northwest.
