No comment from Senator Mike Duffy on new allegations of fraud and breach of trust.
The RCMP went to court today to gain access to Duffy’s bank records – related to claims he awarded $65,000 in Senate contracts to a friend – who did little actual work.
The Mounties say an auditor scrutinizing Duffy’s housing and travel expenses was the first person to flag a series of payments to Gerald Donahue.
The payments represented 57 per cent of Duffy’s general Senate office expenses.
The Mounties also filed papers to gain access to Senator Patrick Brazeau’s bank records – as they look into his disallowed housing claims.
