A Vancouver artist has won this year’s RBC Canadian Painting Competition.
Colleen Heslin won the $25,000 prize for her work almost young and wild and free.
A Toronto artist was one of two to receive honourable mentions. Neil Harrison was recognized for Fig. 13 Knowledge along with Ottawa’s Colin Muir Dorward for Labyrinthineon.” They each received $15,000.
The RBC Canadian Painting Competition recognizes emerging artists in the first five yeras of their careers. More than 500 artists submitted entries this year.
The winners and finalists will be displayed at Art Toronto from October 25th to the 28th and will also be featured in Canadian Art Magazine.
