Lisa Glennie has been our colleague and friend here at Zoomer Media. But last November, Lisa suffered a major stroke and is still undergoing costly therapy not covered by OHIP. Lisa’s husband, Roy Windhager, told the New AM 740’s Happy Gang, “mentally and cognitively she is there. She’s always been strong and she’s trying to keep her spirits up to do the therapy that’s necessary. Physically, it’s challenging, but day to day we try to keep her spirits up and for the most part, she’s got a positive outlook.”
On the night of Thursday October 3rd, there’s a special fundraiser to assist Lisa and Roy with the many costs associated with stroke recovery, such as an extended hospital stay and rehab. It’s being held at The Atrium at Corus Quay with a great night of entertainment which includes Gowan, Rik Emmett, Ian Thomas, and Murray McLauchlan.
The $50 ticket includes a dinner buffet, door prizes and a silent auction, with all proceeds going to Lisa Glennie’s recovery. You can purchase tickets online here or by calling 416-505-4201.
