Pope Francis has greeted eight cardinals from the around the world to the Vatican.

The cardinals are there for meetings on administrative reform in the Catholic church.

The meetings are a response to the Pope’s expressed desire for a missionary church  with a modern spirit  that gives hope to the poor, young and the elderly.

Francis once told the Italian newspaper La Repubblica that he briefly considered not accepting his election as Pontiff when his fellow cardinals elected him March 13th.

He said then and still maintains that the Curia, that’s the Vatican administration, is too inward-looking and will be changed.
