“She was beloved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.”

That’s a statement today from  Mirvish Productions announcing the sad news that Anne Mirvish has died  at the age of 94.

She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family.

The sculptor and former radio singer was the wife of   late Toronto impresario “Honest Ed” Mirvish.

Anne Mirvish was a Hamilton, Ontario native and was married to Ed Mirvish for over 65 years –  until his death in 2007.

Anne was a strong supporter of the arts and  inspired  her husband’s love of the theatre and visual art.

Ed Mirvish was known for his giant discount department store at  Bloor and Bathurst and for owning several theatres in Toronto and the Old Vic in London.

The theatres are now run by son David Mirvish.

A funeral for Anne Mirvish is set for Monday at Holy Blossom Temple.

We offer our condolences to the Mirvish Family.
