An exciting arts partnership has been announced.
The Royal Conservatory and the Hot Docs Documentary Festival are launching a new series.
It will showcase some of the most inspiring music documentaries from around the world – and pair them with special guests selected by The Conservatory.
Beginning October 21st until November 11th – every Monday, a different musical genre and style (from classical to contemporary) will be explored, featuring a discussion after the screning with scholars and musicians.
The event will be moderated by Mervon Mehta – Executive Director of Performing Arts at The Royal Conservatory.
The series opens with “Wagner and Me” An introduction to the life of a musical genius -featuring actor Stephen Fry, who shares his passion for one of the world’s most controversial composers.
Canadian Opera Company Music Director Johannes Debus joins Mervon Mehta for a post-screening chat.
Films are presented at the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema 506 Bloor Street West in Toronto.
Tickets go on sale September 27 at the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema Box Office.
