It’s an enzyme called telomerase and it may be the key to eternal life.
The enzyme is found in lobsters and it prevents DNA strands from shortening.
That’s something that happens in other species as they age.
Biologist Simon Watts is founder of ReadySteadyScience.com.
He says telomerase allows perfect lobster cells to replicate again and again without shortening.
Researchers are trying to find out how telomerase could help discover new ways to increase lifespan and prevent cancer.
