The actor who introduced David Frost to a new generation paid tribute to the late interviewer as a man and an innovator.

Michael Sheen played Frost in the stage and movie versions of Peter Morgan’s Frost/Nixonthe dramatization of the interviews in which Frost extracts an admission from Richard Nixon that the former President had authorized the Watergate break-ins.

Sheen tells the BBC that Frost was very supportive of the play. He says Frost was a shrewd businessman and knew that the play and film would remind the world of one of his greatest achievements, and introduce his work to new generations.

Sir David Frost died of a heart attack on Saturday night aboard the cruise ship, Queen Elizabeth, where he was to give a speech. He was 74.
