An investigation by Toronto’s Public Health has concluded that the contaminant that made dozes of people sick there recently, came from a jam used by Epic Burger and Waffles on its cronut burger.

The contaminated maple bacon jam was manufactured by Toronto bakery, Le Dolci.

The jam is no longer being served and no more food products will be distributed by Le Dolci while Public Health investigates.

Epic Burger and Waffles is being allowed to re-open but isn’t being allowed to include the maple bacon jam in any of its products.

Toronto Public Health says it received calls from 223 people who reported becoming sick  after eating at the CNE last week.

David Bednar is General Manager of the CNE.

He says the last time someone became ill after eating at the EX was sometime in the 1970’s.
