Fans of the late author J.D. Salinger could be in for a treat. The authors of a new biography on the late writer claim an entire series of posthumous Salinger novels will start coming out in 2015.
David Shields and Shane Salerno collaborated on Salinger, the latest work on the author of Catcher in the Rye who died three years ago. They claim new books will feature familiar Salinger characters such as Holden Caulfield from Catcher in the Rye and the Glass family from Franny and Zooey.
Salinger experts always knew that the author continued to write long after he became a recluse. But he wouldn’t release what he was working on. At the time, he said, “There is a marvelous peace in not publishing.”
There has been no confirmation on the claims by either Salinger’s publisher or his son, Matt, who helps manage the author’s literary estate.
