The number of people complaining of food borne illness at the CNE is nearing 100. Well up from the 34 reported Wednesday. Toronto Public Health is focusing its investigation on Epic Burger, a food vendor known for its headline-making “cronut burger”, but all possible venues are being investigated. Late Thursday afternoon, Epic Burgers & Waffles, issued a statement saying it has a clean bill of health and all of its staff has been fully trained in food safety. The company says it takes health and safety very seriously and will await lab results from Toronto Public Health before reopening.
