Sir Kenneth Branagh has performed on stage in some of the world’s great cities, including Toronto.

But he has never appeared on stage in New York. However, that is about to change. Branagh will make his New York stage debut in a production of Macbeth.

This production of the Scottish play was first staged in a de-consecrated church at the Manchester International Festival last month. It co-starred Alex Kingston as Lady Macbeth.

The New York production will be presented in a drill hall at the Park Avenue Armory next June. It’s an atmospheric experience full of mud, blood, and rain.

Branagh says, “I am delighted that we have the chance to recreate Macbeth in this epic setting.”

Branagh also directs the production that received rave reviews in Manchester. The Telegraph writes that it will go down in history as one of Macbeth‘s “great revivals”.
