There is finally some good news for traffic challenged motorists, inconvenienced by the closing of a major downtown intersection. King and Spadina has been shut down for two weeks and is expected to be opened by 6 am Tuesday. TTC track repairs and replacement were to blame for the disruption and a TTC spokesman says the work should be good for 25 years. With the reopening, the 504 King and 508 Lake Shore TTC routes will return to regular routing and streetcar service to the CNE on the 521 Exhibition East route will begin operating from King and Saint Andrew stations along King Street, Bathurst and Fleet Street to the Exhibition Loop.
Replacement buses will continue to run on the 510 Spadina route between Spadina Station and Queens Quay. Streetcar service will resume on Spadina on September 1st.
