Former Conservative Senator Pamela Wallin says she’ll replay all expense claims found to be ineligible, once she receives the final figure. An independent audit of the Senator’s expenses has apparently found ineligible claims amounting to as much as 140 thousand dollars. Wallin, who sits now as an independent, has voluntarily repaid 38 thousand dollars.
Almost all of Wallin’s problems revolve around travel expense claims, most notably dinners and other expenses in Toronto and Guelph, where she was chancellor of Guelph University and where she was doing university business rather than Senate business. The Senate subcommittee will deliver a report on the audit Tuesday. It is then expected to make the report public.
