One of the stars of the hit series Downton Abbey  doesn’t want any conclusions drawn about the name of the show’s newest character.

Michelle Dockery plays Lady Mary Crawley who gave birth to a baby boy at the end of the third season.

She says the fact that the show’s creator decided to call the baby George  has nothing to do with the name of the latest member of the Royal Family.

Dockery says the baby’s name was chosen long before Prince William and his wife, Kate  picked George for their son’s name.

Dockery says she has heard that William and Kate are fans of “Downton Abbey.”

But she doesn’t think that it inspired their choice.

“Downtown Abbey” returns for season four in Britain in September. It’s seen in Canada on Vision TV.
